In 1955 only 841 model 75 imperial limousines were built by Cadillac. Dwight D Eisenhower, Elvis Presley and King Farouk of Egypt each got one. Two were pulled off the line and sent to Derham of Pennsylvania to be customized. The difference in a Derham to the other 839 produced was it had a full English leather top. The window behind the side doors and the rear window in the back were removed and blind quartered. Then a smaller rear window was added for privacy for the rear passengers.

Of the 2 cars built in the Derham style, both were purchased by John D. Rockefeller Jr. One was kept at their Long Island retreat and the other car was kept in New York City.

Intended for Heads-Of-State and captains of industry, Cadillac’s Fleetwood Imperial Limousine is the most luxurious and expensive of Cadillac’s 1955 line. This particular vehicle carries the very rare “X” (Style 7533X Imperial Business Limousine) on the body tag indicating that it was equipped from the factory with additional luxury items including a power divider window. It is finished in Dark Blue Metallic (Cadillac) with a Black leather top.

The drivers compartment is fully trimmed in gray leather. Behind the glass divider. the the passenger compartment. including the jump seats. is trimmed in gray broadcloth which is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The car has all of the power and luxury items that one would expect of a limousine. It features jump seats, mood lighting, and much more.
